NUR 3280 Health Assessment and Health Promotion sample papers, module by module

NUR-3280 asks working RNs to write an assessment the way evidence expects rather than the way a shift report reads. Our samples show how one documented finding turns into a defensible health promotion plan for a named patient.

Send the exact assignment or rubric from your classroom and a custom sample written to it lands in 24 to 48 hours, the first one free. NUR-3280 is TESU’s Health Assessment and Health Promotion course. It centers on building a systematic head-to-toe assessment habit and turning what you find into health promotion that fits a real patient. Searches like "nur 3280 module 4 assignment example", "NUR3280 sample paper", and "NUR-3280 module samples" land on this page.

What NUR-3280 is really about

Most people who open NUR-3280 have assessed patients for years. The course does not treat that as a starting deficit; it treats it as raw material that has never been written down for an academic reader. A BSN-level assessment record has to name the technique used, report the finding in standard terms, separate normal variation from a red flag, and say what the finding implies for care. Mentors read for that chain. The health promotion half then asks you to build something forward-looking out of the same data, aimed at one person with a history, a household and a set of constraints, not at a general audience.

Because TESU runs the course across six modules in one term, each module carries more than a light reading check. In many sections the written assignments build on each other: an assessment of one body system, then a fuller assessment, then a promotion plan that has to cite the findings you already reported. Where a section requires a recorded assessment demonstration or a skills check, that performance is yours and stays out of everything we write. Discussions usually run alongside and are graded on whether you engage other people's cases rather than restate your own. Points and letter grades come off a rubric your mentor posts with the assignment, and that rubric is where the real instruction sits.

What NUR-3280’s assessments ask for

What the course asks for, concretely, is discipline about sourcing. An assessment write-up needs the finding, the method, and a reference that establishes what counts as normal for that age and population. A health promotion plan needs a target behavior, a measure, a timeframe and a stated reason the intervention should work for this patient rather than in general. Expect to be asked for a theoretical frame, often a health behavior model, and expect the rubric to reward using it as a structure rather than quoting it once in the introduction. Formatting is APA. Length limits are tighter than most people expect, which means the argument has to be settled before you start drafting.

Where students lose points in NUR-3280

The marks that go missing here almost always go missing the same way. An experienced nurse writes the assessment as a story about a shift: what the patient said, what you noticed, what you did, how it turned out. It reads well and it earns very little, because none of it is measured against anything. The rubric is looking for the finding held up next to a published standard, a normal range, a screening guideline, and a sentence saying whether this patient sits inside or outside it. Years at the bedside make this harder, not easier, since the judgment happens fast and silently in practice and the paper needs it slowed down and shown.

Using a NUR-3280 sample the right way

Use a sample as a shape, not a script. Read how the finding, the standard and the implication are chained inside a single paragraph, then rebuild that chain with your own patient and your own sources. Send the instructions and the rubric your mentor posted and the first custom sample is written to those, free, back in 24-48h. Compare it against your draft paragraph by paragraph and you will usually see where you narrated and where you argued. What you submit should be your own writing and your own clinical judgment; the sample exists to show you what the finished argument looks like.

How these samples are written

Every sample in this ledger is written the way the custom ones are: the assignment prompt read the way a mentor reads it, module readings cited, APA where the course calls for it. TESU classrooms in myEdison follow a Course Calendar that shifts between runs; a custom request is always written to the instructions in YOUR section, never from a stale template.

NUR-3280 questions, answered

My assessment write-up came back marked as too descriptive. What does that mean?

It usually means the paragraph reports what you saw and stops. A graded assessment paragraph names the technique, states the finding in standard terms, sets it beside a published normal or a screening guideline, and says what follows for care. Add those last two moves to what you already wrote and the same paragraph reads as analysis.

I have fifteen years on a med-surg floor. Can I use my own cases?

Yes, and most mentors prefer it, with two conditions. De-identify the patient completely, and treat the case as evidence rather than as a memory. Every clinical detail you include should be doing work in the argument; if a sentence only proves you were there, cut it. Long experience helps once it is disciplined into findings and sources.

Does the health promotion plan need outside data, or is my patient enough?

Your patient supplies the need; outside data supplies the warrant. A plan built only on one person reads as a hunch. Pull a prevalence figure for the county or the population the patient belongs to, plus one guideline for the behavior you are targeting, and the plan stops being a preference and becomes a defensible choice.
